Twenty
minutes from the Côte dAzure, the relais du Peyloubet is a quiet 18th century
farmhouse near the town of Grasse. In the early 19th century the Relais was a farmhouse
raising olives and roses for the perfumeries. The area was a refuge for artists, including
Picasso, after WWII. The property was was once a relay station for the postal system and
formerly owned by the Russian dissident Alexandrovo (who now resides in the US). Guests enjoy breakfast with their host, a comfortable living room with a corner fireplace, a reading room and a shaded terrace overlooking a tranquil valley. Guests are welcome to use a large refrigerator, gas stove and oven and microwave as well as the barbeque located on the terrace. A telephone is available. The property offers a swimming pool, volleyball, Provencal bowling (petanque), cycling and Ping-Pong. |
