Some interesting elements

The visit of Cannes begins on the Croisette, the most famous promenade in the world. Originally, this ancient little pathway was udes by the monks of Saint-Honorat for their annual processions. At the far end of the Croisette, a small wooden cross could be found, from where the Croisette derives its name. In 1860, it became the Boulevard de la Croisette and in 1960, it was transformed into a two-way road.
The heart of Cannes was made for strolling through. An equal to the Croisette for charm, running parallel to it, offers a myriad of « jewel boxes » that will delight shoppers, perfum shops, jewellers, florists, prêt-à-poetr boutiques, tea parlours, art galleries…
Only a 15 minutes boat trip,discover Sainte Marguerite and Saint Honorat islands. In 1712 under Richelieu, on Sainte Marguerite was built the Fort Royal, in order to ward off various invasions. Since 1737, it has beeb a state prison and has held famous captives such as the Man in the Iron Mask.
